First Vice Prime Minister holds audience with Brazilian Ambassador

On Monday 12th March, the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister for the Interior and Local Corporations, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, met a Brazilian civil protection delegation led by the Brazilian Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, Evaldo Freire.

The aim of the visit by the Brazilian delegation to our country is to bring about the signing of the agreement between Brazil and Equatorial Guinea regarding technical cooperation on civil protection and defence.

The delegation from the Brazilian ABC cooperation agency and members of the State fire service met the Interior Minister.

The work of the delegation consists in evaluating the country’s needs in questions of civil protection. The minister wished them luck in their task.

After the audience, there was a technical meeting with authorities from the department, to coordinate and evaluate the programme of activities planned for the delegation’s stay, such as a visit to the fire service in Malabo; the experience exchange seminar; the discussion and validation of the project proposal, and the move by the delegation to Bata to visit the Civil Protection National Corps Training School.
