Foreign Minister meets delegation from Red Cross International Committee

A delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), led by the regional director for Africa, Patricia Danzi, was received on the morning of Tuesday 14th May in one of the offices at the palace of Conferences in Sipopo by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, accompanied by senior officials from the ministry.

The aim of the meeting was the continuation of the Headquarters Agreement signed by the two parties, to deepen relations and see up to what point they can combine efforts within the framework of assistance to displaced persons, taking into account the role played by Equatorial Guinea within the African Union and on the Security Council, with regards to the promotion of peace and international security conventions.

Furthermore, the minister Simeon Oyono Esono Angue expressed the willingness of the Government in our country to take the hand of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and walk together in favour of the promotion and maintenance of peace on the African continent, arms control and an improvement in the quality of people’s lives, above all in the most vulnerable layers of society.
