Foreign Minister opens training seminar for director generals

On the afternoon of Tuesday 14th May, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, oversaw the opening ceremony for a training seminar aimed at director generals from various ministerial departments in the public administration, with the aim of training the senior officials regarding multilateralism and the United Nations Security Council, of which our country is an non-permanent member.

Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, in his speech, reminded those present that training is the most important incentive that officials in the public administration cam benefit from, as it is essential in order to extend knowledge in the area.

In addition to this course, the minister for Foreign Affairs announced other courses, such as those for languages recognised within the African Union, such as English, French and Portuguese.

This seminar is just the beginning, because we will continue to train our officials, taking into account that the Government gives importance to the training of human resources. If we are not well trained we cannot reach the development goals we are aiming for. Global policy and diplomacy are dynamic, taking into account the active role played by the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in the context of international politics”, said Oyono Esono, who affirmed that the department of Foreign Affairs is a ministry that is involved in all sectors.
