Gabon could benefit from electricity from Equatorial Guinea

Cities in the Republic of Gabon in the Province of Wele Ntem, such as Oyem, Bitam and Medunne, would obtain electricity from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea via the cities of Acurenam, Ebebiyin and Mongomo, in the provinces of Kie Ntem and Wele Nzas, respectively. The meeting to study this possibility was overseen by the Secretary of State from the Ministry for Industry and Energy, together with the Secretary of the Central African Energy Hub and the Gabonese delegation.

The Central African Energy Hub Commission, made up of members from the Ministry for Industry and Energy, together with experts from Gabon, met in Malabo on 26th March to look at the draft understanding in cross-border electrification between Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The aim of the meeting is to create a mixed commission to look at the viability for electrification of the mentioned cities. The Secretary of State from the Ministry for Industry and Energy, Cesar Augusto Hinestrosa Gomez, spoke about the perfect execution of the project.
