To mark the celebration of the thirty-second ordinary session of the African Union Assembly, being held in the city of Addis Abeba from 10th to 11th February, authorities from the host country led by the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abi Amed Abie, offered a gala dinner to the leaders of countries on the African continent, among them the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, as acting president of the UN Security Council. The event was also attended by representatives from international organisations, such as the UN General Secretary, Antonio Guterres, together with numerous delegates.
During the gala, which was entertained by various artists and musicians from various cultures, speeches were heard and gifts were presented to figures in the highest body within the AU for their effective contribution towards its success.
Among those, there were gifts for H. E. President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, who is leaving the presidency of the AU at the end of the outgoing period, and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H. E. Abdel Fata Al Sisi, who is assuming the presidency for the incoming period.
