The new general secretaries recently appointed through presidential decree swore in before the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, at the People’s Palace, in Malabo, on 23rd March.
In addition to the general secretaries, the secretaries from the Ministries for Education, University Teaching and Sports, and Finance, the Economy and Planning; two advisers to the Presidency of the Government at the Ministry for Transport, the Postal Service and Telecommunications, and the Minister Adviser to the Equatorial Guinea Embassy in Central African Republic, also swore in before the Head of State, at a ceremony that was attended by the presidents of constitutional bodies, members of the Government, led by the Prime Minister, Charged with Administrative Coordination, the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, and various figures from the Head of State’s Office.
In his words of advice, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo recommended that the general secretaries work in coordination with their superiors and employ rigour in the functions entrusted to them; to respect the administrative hierarchy, and fight against corruption and absenteeism, in order to obtain an effective administration.
He also spoke about the economic crisis that is affecting the world in general, and our country in particular, inviting severe measures so that all the departments can contribute to the State coffers.
With a greetings section, the act in the Ambassadors Room at the People’s Palace in Malabo came to a close.
