Health professionals from the People’s Republic of China working in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea have received recognition from the Government for their work in our country.
The act of homage took place on Thursday 7th February at the Presidency of the Government, and was overseen by the Director General of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Amadeo Nguema Ondo, with the aim of providing recognition by the Government of Equatorial Guinea for the medical and pharmaceutical work carried out by the Chinese Medical Brigade in Equatorial Guinea.
The Brigade is a team of health professionals made up of doctors in various specialities: cardiology, paediatrics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, traumatology and internal medicine, among others, in addition to paramedical staff and non-health staff from the People’s republic of China. who for a year has been providing its services in health centres in our country.
The members of this brigade, both those working in the Insular Region and in the Continental Region, received certificates of recognition and gratitude granted for the attention, dedication and treatment dispensed to the Equatoguinean population, according to the certificated signed by the Prime Minister, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue.
Maria Goretti Mitogo, General Secretary for health and Social Welfare, representing the Minister for Health, Salomon Nguema Owono, expressed gratitude to this team of health professionals, who provide a service that is not always recognised, according to Maria Goretti.
Along the same lines, she declared that this recognition was a true reflection of the good state of friendship and cooperation between the Governments and peoples of Equatorial Guinea and China. The General Secretary for health also praised the entire Chinese colony resident in our nation that works for the good of our country.
Dr. Chen Lei, head of the medical team, could not hide his feelings due to this recognition by the Government, and he expressed gratitude for this gesture of recognition for their hard work, when nine months still remained until the end of their mission in Equatorial Guinea. The Chinese doctors received their corresponding certificates from Amadeo Nguema Ondo Bindang, Maria Goretti Mitogo, and the Prime Minister of the Government’s Director General for Press and Communication, Raquel Oboan Obama Koose.
