The President of the Republic, Head of State and Government, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, in his capacity as founder of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), on March 17, at the Malabo headquarters of the Party’s National Office, presided over the ordinary meeting of updating the structure of the National Executive Board.
The political call to meeting with the members of the Executive Board, first of the year 2015, served for the newly appointed personalities in the direction of the National Office; the National Discipline Body of the Party; the Women’s Organization, and some monitoring district committees of the government party to swear allegiance and loyalty to the fundamental principles of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea before its Founding President, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
Appointed by order of the President of the party, dated throughout March, the members of the National Board were the first to swear in collectively their responsibilities in the PDGE.
Resolutions numbers 13 and 14, dated March 15, swore in the positions of Jesusa Obono Engono Nchama, who recently was board member of the National Parliament, as the new First Deputy Secretary General for the Women’s Organization, International Relations and Heritage of the party, replacing Maria Leonor Bula Epam Biribe, and Fortunato Ofa Mbo Nchama, current Delegate Minister of Commerce and Business Development, as Second Deputy Secretary General for Administrative Affairs, Institutional Relations and Internal Affairs of the party, who replaced Marcelino Engonga Nguema Onguene, who in turn has become the Ombudsman.
In the presence of the First Lady of the Nation and Honorary President of the National Women’s Organization, Constancia Mangue de Obiang and the Vice President of this party, the members of the Disciplinary Board were sworn in, the Special Adviser of the Women’s Organization, Trinidad Mbulito; the new members of the District Monitoring Committee of the PDGE in Micomeseng, chaired by Angel Mesie Mibuy, as well as the new Special Adviser to the National Office, Celestino Bonifacio Bakale Obiang.
In his reflections, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo indicated that the person who does not operate within a social structure cannot prevail. Within this context, he added that one should be faithfully follow within the organization one belongs to.
For the Founding President, the PDGE is a dynamic, mature party that is unrivaled in the country, and is a social and political organization that, since its founding on July 4, 1986, has been leading the destinies of the people of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo also spoke about its consistent and solidarity work and appealed to the fight for there to be constructive ideas and the promotion of generational politics. At another point in his speech, the Head of State criticized attitudes such as incomprehension, ambition and divisions and called for cooperation in order to achieve progress and peace in the nation, towards a harmonious development.
Concerning the changes within the PDGE, the President said that they were made to strengthen the structures of the government party, expressing his hope that the newly renovated Executive Board is a dynamic body.
In addition to congratulating the Secretary General, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, for his excellent leadership of the National Office, he invited everyone to work to strengthen the actions of the party, while wishing success to the newly appointed personalities.
During this ordinary meeting, in which the operation of the pillar body of the PDGE was renewed and reinvigorated, the Founding President delivered Qualification Certificates to all the members of its Executive Board.
