A senior delegation from Equatorial Guinea, led by the Head of State and the Government, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has been in Angola since the afternoon of Monday 25th September, to attend the investiture ceremony for the new President of the country, H. E. Joao Lourenco.
On arrival at the 4th February International Airport in Luanda, the capital of Angola, the Head of State was received by the Minister for Foreign Relations, our country’s Ambassador in Angola, and other political figures.
The senior delegation led by H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo made the journey to Angola to take part in the investiture ceremony and assumption of office of H. E. Joao Lourenco, the new President elect in the ballot held on 23rd August, where he won with 64.57% of the vote in favour.
The new President and Angola leader of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) takes over from Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, who did not stand for a new mandate after 38 years in power.
