On 7th May, the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, received in audience at the People’s Palace in Malabo, the former President of the Republic of Benin, Dieudonne Nicephore Soglo.
During the audience, the two reviewed the state of diplomatic relations maintained between the two countries.
The Beninese politician also presented the head of State with a view of the current political panorama in his country, which is led by H. E. Patrice Talon.
Finally he expressed his condolences to H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and family on the recent death of Antonio Mba Nguema Mikue, Captain General of the Armed Forces and Minister of State to the Presidency of the Republic, Charged with Presidential Security.
In the presence of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo also received a delegation from Guinea Bissau, led by Franklin Rossette Lopes Rodriguez and including Helder Jorge Vaz Gomes.
The delegation from Bissau brought a message sent by H. E. Manuel Vaz to his counterpart in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the contents of which referred to the relations uniting the respective countries as members of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries and the African Union, among other international institutions.
