On Sunday 28th July, the Head of State and Government, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, received the delegation from the French Republic that formed part of those present at the opening ceremony of the Tica Naval School, located in the Municipality of Rio Campo, led by the European Secretary of State from the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Jean Baptiste Lemoyne.
H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo praised the meeting that took place in the Bata Africa Palace because it marks a new era in relations between the two countries.
It is my personal wish; when I came to power I decided to strengthen our diplomatic relations”, said the Equatoguinean President, who also pointed out the importance of the cooperation, thanks to which our country is part of various international organisations, such as CEMAC.
Furthermore, the Head of State once again declared the position of Equatorial Guinea as that of strengthening friendship and cooperation with France.
France, and a member country of the UN Security Council, and Equatorial Guinea, as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, the two, must join forces for the stability of nations”, said Jean Baptiste Lemoyne.
In the presence of the Minister for Foreign Affairs from Equatorial Guinea, the ambassadors from the two countries and senior commanders from the Equatoguinean army, among other,s the head of the delegation also delivered a written message to H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo sent by the French President, H. E. Emanuel Macron, and an invitation to attend the Forum for Peace, which will be held in Paris in November.
