On the eventing of Sunday 8th July, the Equatorial Guinea Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, travelled to the Republic of Turkey to witness the solemn investiture ceremony for the re-elected Head of State, H. E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was the winner in the presidential elections which took place on 24th June.
The President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who attended the ceremony alongside leaders from various countries, was invited by the Turkish leader himself.
The Equatoguinean delegation also includes the Minister of State to the Presidency of the Republic, Charged with Missions, Alejandro Evuna Owono Asangono, and the Foreign Minister, Simeon Oyono Esono, among others.
Equatorial Guinea and Turkey maintain excellent relations, promoted by the two leaders, who have met on several occasions. In fact, in November 2014, the Turkish President, H. E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, visited Equatorial Guinea to take part in the II Africa-Turkey Summit.
