Head of State oversees first Extraordinary Council of Ministers 2023

The President of the Republic, Head of State and Government, His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, oversaw on Monday 30th January an Extraordinary Council of Ministers meeting, in the Ambassadors’ Hall at the People’s Palace in Malabo.

This is the first time that the nation’s leader has met the government apparatus, following the investiture ceremony and assumption of the Presidency of the Republic for the next seven years on 8th December 2022, and following the composition of the National Parliament, in addition to the appointment of His Excellency Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue as Vice-President of the Republic, Charged with National Defence and State Security.

The meeting of the Extraordinary Council of Ministers was held in the presence of the Vice-President of the Republic, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, Prime Minister and Coordinator of the Administration, the First, Second and Third Vice Prime Ministers, as well as the Ministers of State, Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Secretaries of State.

The agenda included a single point: the reflections and orientations of His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Head of State and Government, Founding President of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, to each and every one of the holders of the various ministerial portfolios within the public administration.
