On 13rth May, the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, granted an audience to a delegation from the African Development Bank (AfDB), which is on a visit to the country. Akinwumi A. Adesina, president of this banking institution, and other members of the delegation, discussed matters relating to the economy with the leader of the nation.
The AfDB chief presented the head of State with the programme planned for the celebration of the annual AfDB meeting, which will take place in June in Equatorial Guinea, and the granting of 700 million dollars for the execution of social interest projects.
H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and Akinwumi A Adesina also spoke about economic diversification, particularly regarding agriculture, and the creation of employment for young Equatoguineans.
The head of the institution welcomed the willingness and support from the Head of State with regards to the AfDB.
In the presence of Cesar Augusto Mba Abogo and Valentin Ela Meye, Minister and Vice-Minister for Finance, the Economy and Planning, respectively, and the Adviser to the Presidency on the Economy, Marcelino Owono Edu, the AfDB president also expressed his personal and institutional condolences on the death of the Captain General of the Armed forces and Minister of State to the Presidency of the Republic, Charged with Presidential Security, Antonio Mba Nguema Mikue.
