The delegation from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea that is taking part in the Sixth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Organisation has been in Qatar since Monday 21st February 2022.
The Head of State and Government, His Excellency Obiang Mangue Mbasogo and his wife arrived at Doha International Airport at around 18.00, and were received by the Director General for State protocol, with whom they exchanged their first impressions in the hall of honour.
The Hotel Sheraton in Doha is hosting the sixth summit of Heads of State and Government of Gas Exporting Countries. The previous forum took place in Sipopo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, in 2019.
The work and decisions taken during this sixth summit will provide an opportunity for leaders to interact and exchange their experiences, views, information and coordination on gas-related issues, such as gas sector development, trends and recent policies. It will also reaffirm its continued support for the objectives of the forum at the highest level.
The Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is confirming its participation in this year’s summit through the presence of His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, leading large delegation comprising the Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; Mines and Hydrocarbons; Foreign Security; Missions to the Presidency of the Republic and several Director Generals.
The Gas Exporting Countries forum aims to boost joint cooperation that can support and develop the natural gas industry, in order to serve the interests of producer and consumer countries.
The 11 members making up the Heads of State and Government gas Exporting Countries forum represent 70% of global natural gas reserves.
The last visit by the President of the Republic, Head of State and Government, His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to the Kingdom of Qatar, was from 30th May to 1st June 2021.
Equatorial Guinea:, as a full member of the Gas Exporting Countries Organisation, will put forward its projects, regarding both exploitation and within the gas market.
