On Saturday 2nd November, the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, visited the current state of some of the work undertaken by the Government of the Insular Region, such as the Cope Bridge. The stretch of this inspection began in the city of Malabo and ran to the District of Riaba, where H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo was informed of some of the difficulties on this stretch of road, the national companies charged with maintenance, and some defects suffered by the infrastructure work executed by the Government of the Nation.
The Cope Bridge, in operation since 1973, separates by land the provinces of Bioko Norte and Bioko Sur, was one of the places which received greatest attention during the visit.
Before returning to Malabo, the Head of State gave instructions to those responsible for public works aimed at the care and maintenance of these infrastructures financed by the Government of the Nation.
