Head of State visits houses burned down in Malabo

The Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo visited the houses of the inhabitants in the neighbourhood of La Ronda de Malabo which burned during the fire of 25th March. On 27th March he was received by officials from the Ministry for Public Works, Housing and Town Planning, from the Province of Bioko Norte, the Town hall of the Capital, and other local authorities.

The leader of the nation shared the pain of the victims for the loss of all their belongings, and announced the complete transformation of this community of neighbours into a modern development, with all the necessary conditions for habitability.

The leader of the nation also instructed the authorities present on the arrival of the first economic funds for the victims, in order to attend their most immediate needs.

On Monday 25th March, a huge fire was declared on La Ronda street, adjacent to the neighbourhoods of Semu and Campo Yaunde, which left more than one hundred homes burned, despite the efforts of owners, tenants and fire fighters, who were unable to contain the fire.

The fire did not lead to loss of life, but to an economic loss running to millions.
