Holding Equatorial Guinea receives delegation from Dubai

The director general of Holding Equatorial Guinea, Mariola Bindang Obiang, received a delegation from the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on the morning of Thursday 12th April. The delegation aims to invest in our country, in the Energy and Aviation sectors, among others.

The director for business development in the Sub-Saharan Africa of Altaaqa Global, a multinational resulting from the joint venture between the Zahid Group and Caterpillar INC, Nalen Alwar, presented the possibilities that his company could offer Equatorial Guinea, such as the rapid development of power plants, in addition to the possibility to contribute to the agricultural sector through the creation of waste recycling plants. At the meeting, he declared that “we have full access to Caterpillar technology, which can integrate solutions such as the use of bio-gas in agriculture. It is a cheaper energy, and provides sustainability to agricultural activities”.

The other member of the delegation, Shavran Sawant, product and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) pre-sales director of Planetcore Education, presented education solutions applicable to the agriculture sector, on both an operational level and with respect to research and development.

Mariola Bindang Obiang described this proposal as interesting, due to the business philosophy of build, finance and transfer, which is in line with the needs of Equatorial Guinea. However, at the start of the sector activities qualified foreign labour will be required initially. With the passage of time, the necessary skills will be transferred to national personnel.
