Important meeting of the Directing Council of the PDGE

The undertaking of a new national tour and the holding of an Extraordinary Congress of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE) were two major announcements that were made at this important Directing Council meeting held on Wednesday, April 8, in Malabo.

The meeting of the Directing Council of PDGE was supervised by the Secretary General, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, and was held at the National Office of the party in Malabo. During that period, Osa Osa Ecoro reported on the holding an Extraordinary Congress of the party in this year 2015, and similarly on the next work tour throughout the country.

In addition to the Secretary General, the meeting was also attended by the new Secretaries General, Jesusa Obono Engono and Fortunato Ofa Mbo, and other officials of the National Office.

Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro informed the attendees that the National Office will hold a work tour throughout the country, given the proximity of the elections of 2016, and asked those responsible for the various departments to make specific proposals, in order to prepare the militants for these elections.

-“We do not need to convince our militants, who are already convinced, but all those who can be manipulated to not see the reality of the development that exists in Equatorial Guinea,” said the Secretary General, who has asked his staff to be aware of the importance of their responsibility and to assume it.

Following the agenda of this directing council meeting, the heads of the departments submitted reports on their respective programs of activities for the year 2015. Therefore, they listened to the analysis of the heads of the Department of Municipal Policy and Urban Development, Health Policy and Environment, Habitat and Housing, Education and Culture, and finally, the Department of Defense Policies and Security.

The meeting concluded with the section of miscellaneous issues.
