On Friday 1st March the presidential couple inaugurated the new urban district of Ongoma Eseng, during the fourth provincial stage of their official tour of the country, where they were received by authorities from the province of Kie Ntem.
The event began with words of thanks from a representative of this new district , and a speech by the Minister for Public Works, Housing and Town Planning, Diosdado Nsue Medja. The cost of the work in this new urban area and its town hall, church, health centre, school and twenty social housing blocks, among other buildings, was 5,260 million Franco CFA.
H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo once again mentioned the importance of keeping the peace, as a tool for the progress and development that the country is seeing from day to day. In addition, he also condemned juvenile delinquency, and addictions that are the scourge of a part of the population.
The aim of the new urban districts is to bring the administration to the residents of the most remote areas in the country”, underlined the Head of State, while inviting the population to carry out adequate maintenance of the new buildings.
Finally, the act concluded with a priest’s blessing and the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon.
