INEGE Director General takes part in 49th Session of the UN Statistics Committee

Representatives from various member countries of the United Nations Statistics System held a meeting at the headquarters of the organisation in New York, from 6th to 9th March, in order to ratify the aims of the committee, and debate and adopt items to improve the statistical strategies with regards to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Equatorial Guinea, as a member of the United Nations, is part of the organisation’s Statistics Commission, and takes part in the annual evaluation that is held in the city of New York, through the National Statistics Institute (INEGE), whose Director General, Ricardo Nsue Ndemensogo, took part in the debates on data and indicators, in support of Agenda 2030 for sustainable development; statistical organisation manual; home surveys; the development of regional statistics; national accounts; environmental and economic accounting; statistics on the economy based on natural resources; agricultural and rural strategies; work and employment statistics; statistics on climate change; statistics on disability, and working methods of the Statistics Commission.

During work at the 49th session, Nsue Ndemensogo signed the extension to the technical cooperation convention between INEGE and the Institute of Statistics and Information from Peru, in order to continue to share experience in the matter, in fields such as accountancy and home surveys.
