The presidential couple, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and Constancia Mangue de Obiang, made an inspection visit on Tuesday 6th August to some of the social infrastructures that the Government has carried out in this continental part of the country, specifically in the municipality of Mongomeyen, belonging to the district of Mongomo.
They were the former headquarters of Dywidac, the National Aviation School, and the hangar for aircraft maintenance under construction.
During the visit, the Head of State and the First Lady were accompanied by civil and military authorities, together with the Division General and Presidential Adviser from the Ministry for Defence, Fausto Abeso Fuma, the Mayor of Mongomeyen Town Hall, and the head of the General Obiang International Airport from the same area, Pedro Nsue Ela.
The aim of the visit was to see the condition, the operation and the progress of the work that the Government is carrying out in the municipal area of Mongomeyen.
The Head of State, after visiting the various compartments at the site, instructed those responsible on its good maintenance.
After the former Diwidac headquarters, the presidential couple went the the National Aviation School, where they were received by its director, Ambrosio Abeso Nsue, and the seven officers from the Air Force on a transition course at these facilities.
The construction work on the general aircraft maintenance hangar was the final stop for the presidential couple.
The construction of the maintenance hangar for planes, which began in 2016, is due to be completed in 2020, and is being carried out under strict compliance with international civil aviation standards, so that the services it is going to provide can receive certification.
