A delegation from the Equatorial Guinea Football Federation (FEGUIFUT), led by its President, Gusatvo Ndong Edu, has held various business meetings in Spain and Portugal, in order to reach new agreements and benefits for the institution.
The first meeting was held in Madrid, with the Futsal selectors , and with the Managing Director of the media company Centauro Multimedia, Francisco Javier Hernandez. After these meetings, the federation chiefs, led by Gustavo Ndong Edu, went to Portugal, where they had a meeting with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).
At the meeting with the First Vice-President and the Sports Director of the Portuguese Federation, the President of FEGUIFUT was accompanied by the General Secretary, Ivan Williams, and the Director of the President’s Cabinet, Segundo Mariano. Also present was the Equatorial Guinea ambassador to Portugal and before the CPLP, Tito Mba Ada.
At the meeting they signed a contract between the two federations covering training, technical development and technologies (courses for coaches and referees, licences, administration, etc.) and also the preparation of the national sides and clubs for important competitions, such as participation in the Champion of Africa (CAF TOTAL), and the Cup of Africa (CAF CUP), involving the league and cup champions for the season.
Furthermore, they dealt with matters relating to the promotion and training of players, in order to have a good group of elite players for the next three years, to refresh the national sides. In addition, participation in CPLP and Portuguese tournaments was debated.
Within the needs put forward by the FEGUIFUT were the following:
-Material and logistics support from the FPF: balls for training, kit, first aid and resuscitation kits, among others.
-Sponsors for national sides and lower categories.
-Acquisition of a brand to kit out the national side, and clubs of lower categories.
-The organisation of s friendly between the men’s national sides, Nzalang National against Portugal or Brazil, with a agreement for the upcoming celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Equatorial Guinea Independence.
A meeting was also held with the Portuguese company ONEBIZ, with which a memorandum of understanding was signed on strategic cooperation and with its Salgueiros Football Club.
Finally, a meeting was also held at the Equatorial Guinea Embassy in Lisbon with a company that wants to establish collaboration agreements with the FEGUIFUT, and possible Equatoguinean investors interested in investing in football in the Portuguese league.
