At the seminar that is taking place at the Hotel Sofitel President, in Malabo, from 29th January to 2nd February this year, the students will have the change to get to know how the petroleum sector works.
The seminar, opened by the Director General for Hydrocarbons Robustiano Ndong Eyege, in representation of the departmental head, Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima, is being given by Alfredo Jones, and aims to teach the technicians that work or have links with the petroleum sector.
The programme includes five topics; the processes of exploitation and production; legal and fiscal structures; understanding the functions of the regulator and national and international companies from the petroleum sector; technical and commercial knowledge and technical vocabulary,
Alfred Jones affirmed that the ministerial department has qualified specialist personnel in various professions, but must receive information regarding hydrocarbons, “In this ministry we have lawyers who specialise in legal matters, and it is necessary that they also understand matters regarding the sector in which they perform their functions, and how the sector itself works. For that reason we have selected people from accountancy, human resources, administration, etc.”
In another part of his speech, Jones called on ministerial departments, autonomous bodies and multinational companies to take part in this type of course in order to understand how the main engine of the national economy works.
During the five days of the course, the facilitator will be assisted by the engineers Nabil Gori Elobe, Mateo Mansiele Bikene and Inocencio Nguema Mabale.
