The president of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA), Joseph S. Blatter, met on March 31 with Andres Jorge Mbomio Nsem Abu, president of the Equatorial Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFUT), in an event that was held at the headquarters of the institution in Zurich (Switzerland).
The meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of utmost cordiality, was aimed at the official presentation of Andres Jorge Mbomio Nsem Abu after his election last December as president of the FEGUIFUT. In the meeting, they discussed several issues related to soccer in Equatorial Guinea and projects that he wants to carry out in the federation.
Joseph S. Blatter is committed to providing maximum support to the FEGUIFUT, and next April 13 an expert from the FIFA will travel to Equatorial Guinea to develop a program of technical assistance and base planning. With these actions he seeks to promote and develop base football, for which they will create synthetic soccer fields, necessary in the country in addition to the great infrastructures that already exist in Malabo, Bata, Mongomo, Ebebiyin and other cities.
-“During our meeting with the FIFA officials, we’ve transmitted the Government’s desire to host in our country a conference of the maximum governing body of world football, a request that has been annotated on the agenda, as they are very satisfied with the result of the recent African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea,” said Andres Jorge Mbomio.
The meeting was attended by the vice president of FEGUIFUT, Gustavo Ndong Edu Akum, and the Secretary General, Tadeo Nsue Onva.
After meeting with Joseph S. Blatter, the Equatorial Guinean delegation traveled to Madrid, where it continued its work schedule with various meetings, before returning to Equatorial Guinea.
