The Minister for Trade and Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Companies, Pastor Micha Ondo Bile, oversaw the official launch ceremony for the Single Business Window in Equatorial Guinea.
The ceremony took place on the morning of Monday 14th January, on the ground floor of the ministerial headquarters, and brought together outstanding figures and coordinators for the initiative.
Micha Ondo Bile, in his speech, declared that this ceremony marked a before and after in the socio-economic and political life of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. This ceremony is the result of the commitment of the Government in its efforts to attract national and foreign private investment, in order to implement the programme of national economic diversification for the emergence of the country towards full emancipation”.
The Minister for Trade also mentioned the long process followed by the Government in order to bring about this initiative, In fact, the Single Business Window emerged as a consequence of the recommendations of the II National Economic Conference in the city of Bata in 1997, and was adopted as a measure of economic reactivation for the sustainability of public finances through Decree number 134/2005, of 2nd November”.
Pastor Micha Ondo Bile also recalled that the aim of his department is to provide the country with a strong, dynamic, dependable and competitive business fabric, as small and medium-sized companies have been the engine of the economies of many countries in the last 25 years.
The Single Business Window will help entrepreneurs with the creation of new companies, through the provision of integrated services for processing and business consultancy. It will have a technical secretary; a business registry unit; a notary unit; a tax ID number section, and a treasury unit.
