After completing his mission in Equatorial Guinea, the Resident Representative of the Agencies of the UN system in Equatorial Guinea, Leo Heileman, was awarded on Monday, January 5, by the President of the Republic, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, with the medal of Commander of the Order of Independence of Equatorial Guinea, in recognition of his work during his mission in our country.
The Delegate Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Pedro Ela Nguema Buna, representing the Minister, Agapito Mba Mokuy, was commissioned to deliver this award in a ceremony which was also attended by members of the Government of various ministerial departments.
Pedro Ela Nguema Buna said that the relations between the Government and the agencies of the UN system have been reinforced by negotiations on various cooperation programs.
-“We can say that, in recent years, the work has been successful,” said the delegate Minister. He also stressed that a major point in relations between the international organization and Equatorial Guinea was the visit of the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, to our country in July.
