MAIB member joins PDGE following 20 years of exile

The PDGE General Secretary has received an old militant from the Self-determination Movement for the Liberation of the Island of Bioko, MAIB. The meeting took place at the National Office of the party in Malabo, on 8th July.

Omolalo Epifanio Mohaba Babo presented before the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, his willingness and firm decision to abandon his militancy and break any past relationship with the MAIB, and from now on, become a part of the huge PDGE family as a militant.

The former MAIB militant explained to his interlocutor that his decision to officially request rejoining the PDGE is the fruit of deep analysis, as after 20 years out of the country living in Europe, where he went after escaping as a consequence of the sad events of 21st January 1998, instigated by the then party of his militancy, the MAIB, he had realised that the truth was diametrically opposed to the false information poured onto the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, onto the PDGE and onto the great leader steering the Nation. Because the false leaders of the opposition abroad and foreign powers never speak of the marvellous transformation and development on all levels that can be seen throughout the nation, or the climate of peace and calm breathed in Equatorial Guinea, or the leadership and capacity shown every day by the President Founder of the PDGE, which has granted him the respect and admiration not only of his people, but of the continent and the entire world.

Omolalo confessed to being very tired and disappointed at so many lies, and expressed regret for not having realised before about the deception and returned to his motherland, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, and his home, the PDGE.

Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro praised the sense, coherence and decision taken by Omolalo Epifanio Mohaba Babo in recognising the huge work of the President Founder of the PDGE in leading both the party and the country towards levels of development that he had witnessed since his return, merits that are constantly denied by the MAIB militants and other members of the radical opposition in exile.

Osa Osa Ecoro accepted the request for renewed membership for Omolalo of the PDGE because, according to the top executive at the National Office, the Great Mass Movement is the party of everyone and does not exclude any one, provided they join freely with their hearts, as is the case of this former senior leader of the MAIB, the common cause of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, which is to make our country a Guinea which is progressively better in democracy, development and well-being.
