Malabo to host V Meeting of PFBC Council

The capital of Equatorial Guinea will host in June the fifth meeting of the Congo basin Forestry Association (PFBC, in its initials in French).

The Deputy General Secretary, Charged with the Department of Physical, Economic and Monetary Integration of the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC), Marie TherAse Chantal Mfoula, and the Minister of State from the Kingdom of Belgium, Francois Xavier De Donnea, Facilitator of the Congo basin Forestry Association (PFBC), held a meeting to that end.

The member of the Belgian Government who led a delegation made up of Raymond Ndombangoye, Executive Secretary of COMIFAC, Maxime Nzita, Co-facilitator and First Adviser to the Belgian Embassy in Yaunde, also reported on exchanges with authorities and officials from the various subregional institutions in Central Africa and the Governments of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Gabon.

The meetings with the Governments of Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the CEEAC aim to obtain the support of the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea for the fifth meeting of the PFBC Council in Malabo, to take place in June 2019, with the aim of exchanging with interested parties matters such as the programme implications of the Declaration of Brussels and sustainable business and investment in Central Africa.

The Deputy General Secretary of the CEEAC reported to the host on important matters on a subregional level, including institutional reform at CEEAC level, and on the COMIFAC within the dynamics of sustainable forest management in Central Africa.
