The latest acts from the official programme marking the celebration of the birthday of S.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, were a thanksgiving mass and a reception provided for the guests.
On Tuesday 5th June, the presidential couple attended a thanksgiving mass organised to mark the 76th anniversary of the birth of the Head of State. It was attended by senior figures from the country, family members, friends and acquaintances of the presidential couple, and was said by the Apostolic Nuncio from H. H. Pope Francis to Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon, Julio Murat, assisted by the archbishop from the archdiocese of Malabo, Monsignor Juan Nsue Edjang, who focussed his homily on the gospel of St. Mark.
During the religious service, the Apostolic Nuncio welcomed the invitation and the welcome received during his introductory visit, and expressed his desire to continue to strengthen the good relations between Equatorial Guinea and the Holy See.
After the mass, the presidential couple provided a banquet for the guests, at the People’s Palace in Malabo, which was attended by international artists.
