Mass arrival of people from Continental Region to attend 50th Anniversary celebrations

Over one thousand people arrived in the port of Malabo, on 7th October, on board the boats Djibloho, DoAa Candida, Elobey and San Valentin, as the first contingent who will take part in the military and popular parade to mark the 50th Anniversary of Independence.

Micomiseng, Nsok Semo, Mbini and Ebebiyin were the first districts whose presidents of people’s councils and neighbourhood communities, and presidents of the PDGE grassroots cells arrived in the capital.

The atmosphere in the port was one of joy and a warm welcome. Each group was received by officials from he PDGE monitoring commissions, and was then taken to the buses that took them to the places they were going to stay for the duration of the celebrations.

The Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, in his meeting recently held at PDGE headquarters, urged the stay by those travelling to attend the event, together with the fiesta itself, to take place in complete normality.
