The members of the two chambers that make up the National Parliament, led by their presidents, Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu, of the Chamber of Deputies, and Teresa Efua Asangono, of the Senate, attended on June 10 the Mass of thanksgiving to mark the closing of the First Regular Session, for the present year 2015.
This Eucharistic ceremony at the Cathedral of Bata was presided over by the Vicar General of the Diocese of Bata, Fernando Ignacio Ndjeng, who was accompanied by other ministers of religion.
The Vicar General stressed that the Church walks with the people of Equatorial Guinea and accompanies them morally in their development; having justice and peace as the foundation of a healthy social life, because, he said, it is a noble aspiration for all people.
He also requested the union with the Church, to pray for our country in search of a true spiritual and material development and concluded by saying that love and justice must always accompany the exercise of the functions that are in favor of a better and more prosperous Guinea.
In an atmosphere of brotherhood, this solemn Mass concluded with the closing of the First Regular Session of 2015 for the present National Parliament.
