The First Lady, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, celebrated her birthday on 20th August. Malabo Cathedral was the main setting for the celebration.

In this thanksgiving mass, Constancia Mangue was accompanied by her husband, the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The solemn religious ceremony brought together political and administrative authorities and special guests, such as the former president of SAPound o Tome and Principe, Fradique Bandeira Melo de Menezes, and family and friends of the presidential couple. The mass was said by the head of the Archdiocese of Malabo, Monsignor Juan Nsue Edjang, assisted by various priests from the cathedral.

In his sermon, the archbishop described the moment as a day of joy for everyone, and urged the First Lady to continue with her charity work.

The Parish Community of the Carmelite Association, of which Constancia Mangue de Obiang is a member, used the occasion to present gifts to the Equatoguinean presidential couple, consisting of floral bouquets, candles, a cross and an image of the Virgin Mary of Carmen.

At the end of the mass, those present sang happy birthday.
