On 31st July, in his office at the ministerial headquarters, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Agapito Mba Mokuy, met the German Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, Elmar Jakobs, with whom he reviewed the activities by Mba Mokuy during his latest visit to Germany, where he attended a Forum on Emigration.
The audience also allowed the two diplomats to cover matters of international cooperation between Germany and Equatorial Guinea, above all the support that Germany provided for the Equatoguinean candidacy for the post of non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
The conversation between the minister and the ambassador also focussed on strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
According to Elmar Jakobs in his words to the press, there is huge potential in the economic relations between the two countries. He also evaluated the privileged situation of the relations of friendship and cooperation between Equatorial Guinea and Germany, The relations are excellent, and also the visit by the Minister for Foreign Affairs to Germany is proof of that, and we also have to work constantly in order to strengthen them more and more”.
