The Prime Minister of the Government, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, met senior administration officials to look at the problem of the reduction in the collection of income for Public Treasury.
Obama Asue told senior officials and experts from various ministerial departments about the mechanisms to seek solutions in order to palliate the reduction in income collection.
The meeting was also attended by members of the Government, the governors from Bioko Norte and Bioko Sur, and government delegates.
The Prime Minister referred briefly to difficulties in the administration, and invited the executive at the General State treasury to adopt measures to control the official papers, as a mechanism to generate income, and the implementation of panels by the administration that indicate the fees to pay when dealing with a particular file, with the aim of avoiding arbitrary, abusive fees.
Obama Asue was very critical of the Customs Department, as it is one that should most generate State income, but its officials are not carrying out their duties. He invited the governors and delegates to assume their responsibilities with rigour, and to submit reports to the General State Treasury on the income generated within their spheres of influence.
