The first meeting between the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, and the current People’s Republic of China Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, Qi Mei, took place on the afternoon of Wednesday 15th may at the headquarters of the party in Malabo,. The two spoke about relations between the PDGE and the Communist Party of China (CPC).
In conversation with the press after her meeting with Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, the Chinese diplomat reaffirmed that the two parties had a long history of good cooperation, and asserted that they were “relations that we hope to maintain in the future”.
Furthermore, giving a balance of the two weeks she has been in Equatorial Guinea, she indicated that “I strongly feel the friendship and sincerity of Equatoguineans; within the decisions of the two Heads of State, cooperation between China and Equatorial Guinea in all the primordial sectors for cooperation are optimum, and I believe that the experience of governance is a focus for attention”.
