To get to know the current state of the airline Ceiba International, in order to evaluate the possibilities of interventions in order to clean up the company finances, was the purpose of the meeting held on Monday 4th June between the Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, and the executive from the airline.
The meeting took place at the Presidency of the Government, and was attended by members of the Board of Directors and the Management Board of the airline.
During the meeting, Obama Asue ordered the directors of Ceiba to carry out an internal audit, in order to produce a report for the Government on the situation within the company. He also considered it necessary to send a delegation to inspect the stopovers on routes operated by Ceiba, on Malabo-Madrid, Dakar, Douala, Bata and Annobon.
The agreement signed between Ceiba Intercontinental and Ethiopian Airlines, on 28th February 2018, was another of the matters looked at during the meeting.
Sergio Esono Abeso Tomo, Ceiba legal adviser, reported to the Prime Minister on the details of the agreement in question, highlighting the rights and obligations for each party, and declared that, to date, Ceiba was continuing to meet all obligations resulting from the agreement.
The ministers for Finance, the Economy and Planning, and Civil Aviation,Lucas Abaga Nchama and Leandro Miko, respectively, also went to the meeting, and presented suggestions and concerns to the Prime Minister.
It is expected that another similar meeting will be held in the next few days, to present the requested reports.
