As part of the preparations for the celebration of the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2015), the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare met on Tuesday, January 13, with the heads of travel agencies in the country to inform them of the prevention guidelines against Ebola.
The Secretary of State for Hospital Assistance and Coordination and Coordinator of the National Committee for Monitoring the Ebola epidemic in the insular part of the country, Maria del Carmen Andeme Ela, met with the heads of the travel agencies in the conference room of the Ministry of Health in Malabo.
First, Andeme Ela told the attendees that the Ministry has detected infringements by some agencies that are not completely fulfilling the high standards of prevention against the virus that have been set in view of the CAN. She also recalled the work being done by employees who are in our country, as well as those who have come from Egypt and the World Health Organization (WHO) to avoid cases of Ebola. The Secretary of State also requested the training of the staff working in the agencies.
After her speech, a member of the organizing committee of the meeting, precisely one of the experts from Egypt, gave a presentation on methods of disease prevention. The meeting ended with several questions from the heads of the agencies.
