The IV meeting of the Specialist Technical Committee (STC) of the African Union (AU) on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, under the banner “Bring about women’s rights for an equal future”, focussed on the review of the Implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Action Platform (Beijing + 25 Review) has taken place at the headquarters of the African Union over two days. The aim of the meeting was to consider and adopt the African Beijing + 25 review report, documents and decisions to support the implementation of the commitments of the AU GEWE Agenda, in addition to the creation of public awareness-raising campaign through the attention of senior level measures in African on the process of review of Beijing + 25 and the AU GEWE Agenda in general.
Agenda 2063 has seven aspirations, including one in which development is promoted by people who trust in the potential of Africans, particularly its women and youth.
Agenda 2063 is at the same time a vision, an endogenous plan and a route map for the development of African over fifty years, based on the acceleration of the implementation of past and existing continental initiatives for sustainable growth and development.
