The Deputy Prime Minister for the Political Sector, Democracy and Minister of Internal Affairs and Local Corporations, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, presided on Monday, April 6, in the conference room of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Malabo II, over the meeting of the Joint Commission of Government-Political Parties, to discuss the draft law on the financing of political parties in Equatorial Guinea.
During the National Dialogue between the Government and the Political Parties, held in Malabo from November 7 to 13, 2014, the Government delegation took into consideration the proposal of the political groups on a thorough review of its Financing Act.
Those attending this joint commission have thoroughly analyzed the document on this funding, to find a solution that provides transparency, both for public subsidies from the State, as well as to the contributions of individuals and those made by adhering militants.
This document will be submitted to the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, before its approval by the President of the Republic, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. It also includes the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations; the Law Regulating Municipal, Legislative, Senatorial and Presidential Elections.
