Meeting of V Equatorial Guinea-China Mixed Commission

The Equatoguinean delegation, led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simeon Oyono Esono, which is in the city of Beijing, attended the meeting of the V Equatorial Guinea-China Mixed Commission.

Oyono Esono thanked the people and Government of China for their warm welcome. This meeting is an opportunity to strengthen and secure the relations of friendship and cooperation that the two countries have maintained for several years, reaffirming the political will of H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and H. E. Xi Jinping to highlight the relations of collaboration between the two countries.

During the debates, the Equatoguinean delegation made clear the importance of China investing in Equatorial Guinea, thanks to the climate of peace and stability in the country, an attractive place for foreign investment. Chinese investors are welcome in Equatorial Guinea to 9invest not only in the infrastructures sector, but also in the sectors of agriculture, fishing, industry, etc.

The Vice-Minister for Commerce from the People’s Republic of China, Qian Keming, for his part, welcomed the interest of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in continuing to maintain cooperation with China, with this country being chosen to support the projects implemented under Agenda 2035. China intends to continue collaborating in order to achieve the implementation of the projects, according to his declaration.

The minister concluded his speech by requesting support in financing the projects presented by the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, praising the Chinese development model that in just a few years has transformed it into the second largest economy in the world.
