To mark International Women’s Day which is held every 8th march, on Friday 15th February the female senators held a meeting of coordination and dialogue to draw up a plan of action in which they will feature through a series of activities to mark this global event.
The meeting, which took place at the new headquarters of the Senate, located in Avenida Hassan II, was overseen by the leader of the legislative institution, Teresa Efua Asangono, and served as an opportunity for the senators to agree on a programme of activities to mark International Women’s Day.
To that end, the senators intend to organise social activities in solidarity, such as visits to some health centres, the organisation of an awareness-raising conference for young people on HIV/AIDS, and preventive measures to stop its spread.
Furthermore, they expect to organise another conference on schooling guidance for students, with the aim of informing them regarding the various possibilities for training, and helping them choose careers in order to prevent academic failure.
