Following the arrival in Malabo of the senior delegation from the Government of Gabon, led by its President, H. E. Ali Bongo Ondimba, the first working meeting has taken place between delegations from the two countries, at the headquarters of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
The delegations from the two nations were represented by their ministers for Foreign Affairs, Agapito Mba Mokuy, for Equatorial Guinea, and Nelson Messone, the Gabonese Minister for Foreign Relations.
The aim of this meeting was to look at the state of implementation of agreements between Equatorial Guinea and Gabon regarding the ministries of National Security, Mines and Hydrocarbons, and Civil Aviation signed in 1980; Telecommunications, signed in 1981; and Public Works and Infrastructures, on the construction of a border bridge over the river Kie between Mongomo and Medzeng, and the Ebebiyin Meyo-Kie stretch of road, signed in 2007.
During the meeting they also decided on the definitive version of a joint communique, and the date for holding the next Mixed Commission.
