Meeting the board of directors of ASECNA

Delegations of Equatorial Guinea, Benin, Gabon, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Congo, Ivory Coast, Comoros, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Chad, Niger, Senegal, Togo and Madagascar participated in the 128th Meeting of the Board of Directors of ASECNA to approve the operating budget and investment for 2015.

Among the challenges faced by ASECNA (Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar), the participants at the meeting mentioned the strengthening of the aeronautical mobile service, modernization of communications equipment for the pilot/controller, the constant renewal of equipment and the construction of five regional air navigation centers (CRNA).

Other challenges discussed during the meeting were the implementation of areas to the random routes in the Atlantic and flexible routes to provide planes with more direct flights, saving fuel and significantly reduce CO² emissions; strengthening the security of travel by the visualization of air traffic and the development of capabilities for satellite navigation in Africa.
