Milam Tang inspects work at new headquarters of Council of the Republic

On 11th April, the President of the Council of the Republic, Ignacio Milam Tang, made an inspection visit to the new headquarters of the institution he heads, with the aim of seeing first hand the progress of the refurbishing work.

This is the emblematic building of the former BEAC headquarters located on Avenida de la Independencia in Malabo, which is soon to become the Official headquarters of the Council of the Republic and the Ombudsman’s Office.

This inspection visit was also attended by the Minister for Public Works, Housing and Town Planning, Diosdado Nsue Medja, and the Director for the Control of Works from GEOPROYECTOS, Juan Carlos Ebong, with members of his office.

Milam Tang and colleagues were accompanied by Youseff Ahmad, director of Abi Medsud, the company carrying out the refurbishment work, who provided the visitors with detailed information of the work done to date, with a tour of the entire site, including the General Secretariat, the offices for spokespersons, the protocol offices, the office management and offices for the President and Vice-President of the institution.

Ahmad also revealed that in order to complete the work they needed to install the furniture and computer equipment, which would take place at the end of April, before handing the building over to the Government.
