The Republics of Equatorial Guinea and Yibuti are prepared to walk together and promote, as a basic principle, the strengthening of relations which are growing more and more solid and fruitful.
This was the focus of the conversations held on the morning of 8th October between the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono, and the new Ambassador from Yibuti to Equatorial Guinea, Mohamed Idriss Farah, during his first meeting with the minister to present his credentials, prior to their presentation before the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
During the course of the meeting, the two figures focussed their conversations on seeking ways to continuously improve relations between the two States, taking into account the upcoming visit by the President of the country, H. E. Ismail Omar Guelleh, to Equatorial Guinea, in the coming days, to attend events to park the 50th Anniversary of Independence in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
The Republic of Equatorial Guinea and Yibuti signed an Framework Agreement on Economic, Trade, Cultural, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, an Agreement on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investment, in addition to the Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Consultation between the Foreign ministries from the two countries, achieved in the city of Yibuti, on 22nd April this year, between the ministers from the two States, Simeon Oyono Esono and Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, respectively.
