The commission met the Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Salomon Nguema Owono, in order to receive information on how the Chinese doctors are working in Bata and Malabo, get to know the current position and look at cooperation between China and Equatorial Guinea in health matters.
Salomon Nguema Owono, after listening to the commission, expressed his gratitude for the huge work being done in the sector, while reporting that the Chinese doctors residing in Bata and Malabo are working satisfactorily.
Secondly, he asked for collaboration in order to help with improvements at the Malabo and Bata hospitals, with respect to medicines for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, which are distributed free of charge, and asked the Health Commission from the province of Duan for a series of medicines and specific equipment, among others.
The meeting ended following the response from the commission to continue to support the Equatorial Guinea in health matters as far as necessary, while they also thanked the minister and his Government for the good reception being given to the medical brigade from the People’s Republic of China.
