Salomon Nguema and Guillermo Lopez Mac-Lellan spoke on 13th February about cooperation in public health mattes between Equatorial Guinea and Spain, and reviewed the various activities, programmes and grants regarding health.
The meeting took place in the minister’s office. The Ambassador was accompanied by the general Coordinator for Spanish Cooperation in Equatorial Guinea, Alberto Quintana.
During the conversations they spoke about two programmes that have been subsidised: the setting up of a system of health training, and the activity that has been in progress for many years at the Carlos III Institute for Public Health.
Furthermore, they reviewed the recent grant given to the Castro Verde Laboratory, for the renewal of all analytical equipment, among other projects.
The minister also expressed his concern regarding the high rate of HIV/AIDS sufferers, malaria, and other diseases, the upcoming opening of the hospital in Baney, and the reasons for the delay of the hospital in Sampaka, among others.
