Minister for Mines and Hydrocarbons visits Mozambique

On 1st and 2nd March, the Minister for Mines and Hydrocarbons, Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima, visited the Republic of Mozambique, in order to sign a memorandum of understanding with the minister for Mineral Resources and Energy from that county, within the framework of the implementation of the agreement reached on 5th April 2017, between the Heads of State from the two countries.

Taking advantage of his stay in the city of Maputo, the minister Obiang Lima was received in audience by H. E. Filipe Jacinto Nyussi, who praised the constant interest of the Government of Equatorial Guinea in south-south cooperation, a fact that will make the African economy increasingly more solid and competitive.

In addition, the minister for Mines and Hydrocarbons visited the National Institute for Petroleum in Maputo, and the Development Project for a 106 megawatt combined cycle gas power plant.

Concluding his stay, the minister Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima, for Equatorial Guinea, and Ernesto Max Elias Tonela, for Mozambique, signed the memorandum of understanding in relation to the hydrocarbons and mineral resources sector, agreeing to the execution of common policies in the interest of implementation in the sector, sharing experiences and an exchange of human resources in order to specialise in various areas of interest.
