The Minister, Maria Consuelo Nguema Oyana, oversaw the meeting to learn about the need of the Government to promote among single mothers agricultural activities, as a means of supporting their children.
The meeting took place in the meeting room at the ministry, and was attended by the Vice-Minister for Social Affairs, Pastora Ntutumu Santalices, and the general secretary from the department.
The minister commented on the role of women, and invited the women to sign up for the agricultural project, specifically for the cultivation of corn and rice.
This initiative comes from the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, which has seen the need to provide opportunities to single, unemployed women.
This actions is already being implemented in Bata, and it is set to continue on the insular region. The meeting concluded with the inscription of some women on the project.
